What does the market matter?

We’ve traveled a ton of towns in this trip. In every towns no matter how big or small there are, they have their own unique market, especially in Myanmar. Arts, local souvenirs, fresh foods or even late night special recipes, you name it. They have everything to serve your needs.

But it’s impossible to exclude Bogyoke Aung San Market from the rest. It is a major bazaar located in Pabedan Township in central Yangon, Myanmar. Known for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets, the market is a major tourist destination, dominated by antique, Burmese handicraft and jewelry shops, art galleries, and clothing stores. Everyone who has been here couldn’t resist the temptation of buying things even they don’t want to. Magic isn’t it?

What captured our attention the most are those signs which written in Thai. “Fair Price”, “Satisfaction Guarantee” and “Special Deal for Thai only”. Remind me that Thai people are their mainly customer here in Bogyoke Aung San Market.
